Verification Policy

What Verification Means

The Nation.Tattoo "Verified" badge indicates that an artist or studio has submitted documentation for review and our team has manually confirmed that the profile represents a real, operating professional. Verification is about identity and legitimacy — not quality endorsement.

Important Limitation

Verification does not mean Nation.Tattoo has inspected the studio, tested the artist's work, confirmed their licensing with any government health department, or guaranteed any outcome of services rendered. Always verify a practitioner's current government license independently.

How to Get Verified

To apply for profile verification:

  1. Navigate to your artist or studio dashboard
  2. Click "Request Verification" in the Licenses & Credentials section
  3. Upload at least one of the following documents:
  • State or county tattoo/piercing license
  • Health department permit for the studio
  • Bloodborne pathogen training certificate (within 2 years)
  • APP membership certificate
  • Government-issued ID confirming identity

Admin review typically takes 1–3 business days.

APP Member Badge

The "APP Member" badge is displayed when an artist or studio has self-declared membership in the Association of Professional Piercers and provided supporting documentation. Nation.Tattoo does not independently verify current APP membership status with the APP organization.

Badge Removal

Verification badges may be removed if:

  • Submitted documents are found to be fraudulent
  • A government license has expired and has not been renewed
  • The account is found to be misrepresenting the verified entity
  • The studio or practitioner closes or ceases operating
